A wonderful rendition by Ella Roberts. The first time I heard this song, it was sung by Andy Williams. I had it on a vinyl LP. In recent times, I have also listened to Elvis Presley singing it. It is interesting to listen to the variations on a theme by different singers. This is the best version that I have heard so far. I find it very relaxing and soothing.

I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. However, every school student north of the border must be taught the story of Flora McDonald who risked life and limb to protect Bonnie Prince Charlie. I am amazed that the powers that being in Scotland have not set up Scottish medium schools where all teaching is taught in Gaelic This is to ensure Scottish students learn their native language and don’t lose their culture.
